Description
Circa 1900. A carved walnut stool by ‘Whytock & Reid of Edinburgh’ after a design by ‘Sir Robert Lorimer’. The large rectangular stuff-over upholstered seat with a slightly dipped center finished with an elegant gimp, resting on four elegant cabriole legs with foliate carving on the knees with water lilies (a motif used frequently by Sir Robert Lorimer). The legs taper and finish on an extended pad foot.
