Description
Circa 1870. A mid Victorian hall lantern. The octagon shaped lantern with painted and etched panels in classic Victorian patterns, contained in a tarnished gilded metal frame, the top section with elegant pattern on the facing and a shaped frieze with locks the glass in position. The uprights separate each of the panes have a stylish and elegant pattern, too. The base of the lantern has six downward facing and gilded Anthemion with scrolling on the top, the lantern is held in place by three chains.
