Description
Circa 1900, Shodona style lacquered wood and bone inlaid cabinet. With a pediment that rises upwards to each end it sits above an arrangement of shelves which vary with C scroll joints to the front and open fretwork panels. The doors to the cabinet also vary as they are hinged, sliding, panelled or curved and each are profusely lacquered and inlaid with birds and foliate carving. All sitting on a separate carved stand with large foliate central carving, open fretwork, full relief carving and a curled foot to each end.
