Description
Circa 1890. Rare set of 12 mahogany Chippendale chairs all bearing labels “Marsh, Jones and Cribb (late Kendal and Company)”. In the finest quality mahogany, the shaped top rail with relief foliate carving above an open lattice back with nailed green leather seats on acanthus carved cabriole legs with ball and claw feet. Marsh Jones and Cribb were famous cabinet makers noted for the quality of their furniture which began in 1850 in Leeds and later expanded to Cavendish Square, London.
