Circa 1800. A quality brass-bound mahogany Navett bucket with an insert brass shallow liner, both have articulated brass lifting handles. Provenance – Montgomerie House (see image of drawing room).
A Navett bucket is a bucket with a shaped body which is pointed at both ends with equally curved sides. The term Navett can also refer to the shape of a marquise-shaped gemstone or jewelry contour.
