Description
Circa 1880. Quality Louis XVI style marble top, tall French kingwood chest of drawers. The serpentine front variegated cream marble top above 7 shaped-front drawers with neoclassical circular drop ormolu handles and escutcheons. The drawers with solid oak liners have panels of herringbone- pattern kingwood inlay surrounded by chequered satinwood and ebony inlay. The chest with canted and crossbanded corners with ormolu mounts. The sides with matching herringbone-style inlay and large quarter-cut kingwood panels. All supported on chamfered, tapering legs with ormolu sabots. In pristine condition.
