Circa 1880. Neat size late Victorian mahogany knee hole desk. The rectangular top with cross banding and gilt tooled Burgundy leather writing surface over a central shaped knee hole flanked by 2 banks of drawers with cock beadings, twin circular brass handles, mahogany drawer linings (sign of quality) and bearing label S&H Jewell 131 High Holborn, London WC1, Jewells (noted cabinet makers). Supported on enclosed plinth bases.
