Description
Circa 1840, a matched pair of tables consisting of a wash stand and a writing table. The wash stand has a tall, shaped ¾ gallery and quarter brackets between the top and base which are decorated with round, acorn design finials. It stands on ring turned, turned and tapering legs united by a shelf towards the feet. The side or writing table has a low ¾ gallery with a simple fore-edge and similar quarter brackets and finials to the wash stand. It has a deep frieze with an ash-lined drawer (indicating they are Scottish) and similar legs to the wash stand.
