Description
Circa 1880. A large late Victorian framed mirror. The arched top with a mixture of gilding and ebonized sections with an interesting central section with a large gilded gesso cartouche, with foliate carving and two mythical dragons each side, further foliate carving to the sides. The gilded beading follows the shape of the frame and is mixed with reeded ebonized sections, carved gilded rondels which are spaced symmetrically throughout the frame. The large frame contains original mirror and is in excellent condition. Providence ex Jack Wills clothes shop, George Street, Edinburgh.
