Description
Circa 1870. A large, quality late Victorian solid oak open bookcase. The stylish moulded cornice with wonderful medullary rays in the frieze, the top with three open sections each separated by a ribbed and fluted facing, each section with four adjustable shelves with moulded facings. A large flat section beneath with a moulded fore edge, the base with three sections, the center with two cupboards each with panels, flanked by a shelved open section. Beneath the doors and the shelves there are further mouldings, and the whole piece rests on an enclosed solid oak base. Over 18.6 linear meters of open adjustable book space.
