Description
Circa 1880. A late Victorian walnut and inlaid turnover card table. The rectangular top with canted corners, quarter matched walnut top with zig zag boxwood and ebony inlay and various bandings. The top is hinged and opens to reveal felt lined interior with broad banding. The inlaid frieze with triangular boxwood, ebony inlay and simple beading beneath. Supported on four stylish carved turned and ring turned legs. United by a substantial stretcher with similar turnings, all resting on four downward facing legs with carving on the facing, and inlay on the ends, finishing with four brown porcelain castors.
