Description
Circa 1770. Exceptional George III mahogany bureau in fiddleback mahogany with excellent colour and patina. The bureau top in fiddleback mahogany and the polished cleated flap in a nicely figured Spanish mahogany opening to an exceptional stepped interior with shaped drawers, pigeon holes, inlaid door hiding a secret drawer. The base with 4 graduated cock beaded drawers with swan neck brass handles (Victorian replacements) and original quarter-cut oak drawer linings. All on a neat moulded base and original ogee bracket feet. Overall, a lovely colour and patina.
