Description
Circa 1880, Victorian copy of a George I walnut side table. The top has a quarter matching veneers and a deep crossbanded fore edge. There is a caddy top moulding and beneath this there are two elegant rectangular drawers with matching veneers on the front and a lovely moulded edge, and cast brass handles with fretwork back plates. The right hand drawer is stamped with the retailers mark ‘Edwards & Roberts’ who were based in London. Beneath the two drawers is a wonderful shaped apron, the shape continuing around the side as well. The table stands on four elegant and slender Queen Anne style legs finishing on simple pad feet.
