Description
Circa 1860, French gilded brass and porcelain mantel clock. With Chinese motifs, painted Arabic numerals and a makers or retailers name to the face of ‘Festeau le Jne, HGR DU ROY… Paris 1785’. To the back is a pendulum with a sunburst, cherub face and it has the unusual feature of a pair of porcelain lions. It all stands on a cast brass and gilded rococo style base and it has been serviced and is working (strikes on the single bell).
