Description
Circa 1810. An exhibition quality Regency mahogany snap top breakfast table. The rectangular table with rounded corners in finely figured mahogany and broad rosewood banding framed with boxwood and mahogany. With a simple moulded fore edge and shallow frieze, the top is locked in position by gilded brass double clasp with the original keepers on the block beneath. The table rests on a beehive turned stem with ebonized sections, finishing on a double ribbed ebonized collar issuing four hipped ribbed saber legs with a brass paw foot and brass castors beneath.
