Description
Circa 1815. An exhibition quality dining table almost certainly by ‘Gillows of Lancaster’. The tops in the finest richly figured Cuban mahogany, with rounded corners and a moulded fore-edge, with a simple beaded frieze resting on the classic Gillows, fluted tapering legs. The center section consisting of a drop leaf section, all resting on similar legs. 4 of the legs on each side are hinged and swing out to support the table leaves, which are held in place by cast brass clips.
