Circa 1870. Exceptional quality set of 8 unusual George III style mahogany dining chairs with leather upholstery and brass studding. The sloping backs with intertwined vertical splats and carved paterae with foliate chain crests. The generous-sized serpentine front seats with original leather upholstery and brass studding in good condition with an attractive degree of wear. Supported on square tapering legs in front and outswept rear supports with H stretchers. The two carvers with shaped arms on fluted supports. All in excellent condition.
