Description
Circa 1860. Very stylish mid-Victorian white marble mantel clock in the Egyptian style. The large flat top surmounted by a recumbent cast brass sphinx in an elegant pose with stylish decoration. The circular clock face with Roman numerals and the name; ‘Bryson & Sons Edinburgh and Paris.’ The bezel is flanked by a pair of brass tapering harebells, the white marble in the form of a mausoleum with ribbed sections on the front and sides, resting on an enclosed marble base. Clock recently serviced.
