Description
Circa 1880, carved giltwood Baroque style rectangular stool. The recently reupholstered seat in a cream fabric, over 4 well carved legs with elegant capitals to the top and foliate designs. These are intersected by shaped stretchers with a central carved flower head and all over squat, fluted feet. The gilding has mellowed, with some of the Venetian red base showing through.
