Circa 1900. A Meiji period red lacquered and painted Japanese Shodana cabinet, the neat sized cabinet finished with red lacquer work, the top with two classically raised ends, with various cupboards, doors and shelves with painted and japaned, with the panels depicting classic Japanese scenery.  The cabinet rests on a stylish base with a concave shaped and painted frieze, resting on four elegant cabriole legs.
