Circa 1900. An exhibition quality pair of walnut and burr walnut beds designed by ‘Sir Robert Lorimer’ and made by’ Whytock & Reid of Edinburgh’, the carved and shaped headboard with typical Lorimer style, with foliate carving on the fore-edge, the center with the shape of a heart in book match flame mahogany, surrounded by burr-walnut, the curved uprights finishing on a square foot, the tail board are dipped in the center, with flame mahogany panel, surrounded by burr-walnut, with curvaceous sides finishing on a classic ‘ Sir Robert Lorimer’ carved pad-foot, each of the beds comes with 2 solid beach side rails and the original horse hair upholstered insert.
