Description
Circa 1880. A very rare set of 22 late Victorian scumbled beech dining chairs. The shaped top rail with an elegant piercing, supporting five turned balustrades with a curved rail beneath. The solid scooped seat with a simple fore-edge, the chairs rest on four turned and ring turned legs with the back legs slightly splayed, united by turned stretchers, with particularly elegant ones in the front, with a small shelf to the underneath.
