Description
Circa 1860, mid-Victorian exhibition quality, burr walnut davenport desk. Surmounted by a stationery/pen section with lifting lid above the sloped writing surface, with a gilt tooled burgundy hide. The satin birch interior with mahogany lined drawers, with finely turned handles. On the right side, 4 drawers with unusual acorn turned handles and mahogany liners, and original brass locks (with dummy drawers to opposite). The panelled front is flanked by spiral, ring turned supports, all on a shaped platform base over flat bun feet.
