Description
Circa 1840, French mahogany cheval mirror. With an architectural pediment and ormolu mount depicting 2 cherubs, a lyre and foliate casting. The moulding beneath this follows the top and there are 2 uprights with castings, leading on to 2 moveable candle sconces in brass. The frame is chamfered towards the glass and held in place by 2 metal rods. The base of the mirror has cross over stretchers with ormolu mounts, moulding around it, and 4 legs with acanthus carvings and a stylised foot. The mirror retains its original glass.
