Description
Circa 1880, Victorian copy of a Georgian Windsor chair, in elm. The Windsor chair, with its classic back, with a mixture of spindles and open fretwork splats, the high, and u-shaped arm rest in the centre with the splat continuing beneath it. The fronts of the arms are held in position by stylish, turned uprights (note: they are different on each arm). There is a solid seat with a scooped-out centre. Beneath this, the chair stands on four simple turned legs, which are splayed to the front and the back and united by bulbous, tapering cross-stretchers. The chair is sturdy, and has excellent colour and patination.
