If you have ever visited the third and fourth floors of our warehouse, you may know that we have an extensive selection of marble-top furniture. Marble top pieces of furniture are fantastically functional, offering a durable and usable surface in your home. It is an ideal place to showcase your vases, plant pots, sculptures, and ornaments. What makes it even more appealing is that it is a luxurious material, admired for its beauty and distinctive character. You will often find it on furniture from the 18th and 19th centuries in Europe, where marble was a statement of wealth and sophistication.
To further express this, furniture makers took inspiration from Rococo and Neoclassicism and designed these pieces with elaborate forms and decoration. These elements included marquetry, parquetry, serpentine fronts, bombé fronts, and intricate ormolu mounts and handles.
